Canyonlands is divided into four districts: Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the rivers themselves. Each district has its own unique geography and offers different opportunities for adventure and exploration. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including mule deer, coyotes, black-tailed jackrabbits, and over 273 species of birds.  Canyonlands has a rich history and contains numerous archaeological sites, including granaries, rock shelters, and petroglyphs created by Native American cultures.
